WHITE HOUSE DETAINEE MELANIA TRUMP ACTUALLY HAS GREAT “AFFINITY” FOR THE PRESIDENT, INSISTS FRIEND
They only look like they hate each other’s guts, and spend as little time together as possible, sources close to the White House say.
According to the Post, the Trumps “are often apart even during their free time,” holidays, and weekends, rarely even eating together when they‘re both at the White House. “They spend very little to no time together,” said a longtime friend of the ex–real-estate developer. Trump, by his own admission, got his wife a s–tty birthday gift. And when they are both under the same roof—where they keep separate bedrooms—Melania goes out of her way to avoid her husband, having “erected a de facto wall between the East Wing,” where her office is, and the West Wing, where Trump lingers when he’s not busy watching TV or whatever else “Executive Time” entails. “She seldom sets foot in the West Wing,” said a person with firsthand knowledge of the situation.
Political opponents target NRA with charges of funneling Russian money to Trump campaign
Democrats on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence have accused Mr. Torshin, a Russian bank official sanctioned by the Treasury Department as part of the U.S. response to the 2016 interference campaign, of trying to use his affiliation with the NRA to get closer to the Trump campaign in 2016.
Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, met with Mr. Torshin on the sidelines of the NRA’s 2016 convention in Louisville, Kentucky, but he said they didn’t discuss the presidential election, according to House intelligence committee Republicans.
Mr. Frazer said Mr. Torshin has been a nonvoting life member of the NRA since 2012 and that the group is reviewing its relationship with him.
CNN reported last month that the gun rights group has been setting aside years of documents related to its interactions with Mr. Torshin in preparation for a possible investigation.
Iran defiant as Trump poised to make the nuclear deal decision
US president set to make an announcement on the nuclear deal as Iran’s president tries to calm nerves over the decision.
Al Jazeera’s Zein Basravi, reporting from Tehran, said that leaders in Iran are “well aware that at this stage, the fate of the nuclear deal is out of their hands”.
He said that the Rouhani administration, which supported the deal from the beginning of the negotiation, is now in “damage-control” mode.
“There’s a lot of the defiant tone that you’re hearing.”
Earlier on Monday, Rouhani had said that the nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), would be “even better” without the participation of the US.
Rouhani also said that Iran is willing to stay in the deal with Europe, Russia and China if its “expectations” are met.
“The US, from the very start, has been trying to curb Iran’s power, and today, whether they stay in the JCPOA or pull out, they are still after the same thing,” he said.
