We Couldn’t Say it Better Than the Liberal Redneck Trae Crowder on Bailing from the Iran Deal
By: Lisa M. Hayes
“Trump is treating entire counties and our citizens and all of our lives like pieces on a fucking board game that he’s playing.” – Trae Crowder
And that about sums it up.
On Tuesday when Trump pulled out of the Iran Deal he put not just our country, but the world on a much more precarious footing.
Why?
Because the Middle East peace process is greatly impacted by it and we’re all impacted by the Middle East. It happens to be the place certain American Presidents like to wage war. It’s obviously more complicated than that, but that’s pretty much the Cliff Notes version.
Additionally, removing the United States from multi-national agreements makes international governing nearly impossible for future U.S. presidents. We’re only as good as our word and recently that word isn’t worth much, (Paris Accord, anyone?).
This is one of those “This is not a drill” moments in world politics. The ramifications of this move could play out for generations to come. While Iran’s adult leaders are trying to smooth the waters by saying the deal will go on without the U.S., it’s not much of a deal without us. For hell’s sake, even Putin doesn’t agree with Trump’s decision.
